How To Survive In The Motherland Feat. Leyla Mulavdic

In this week’s episode, we’re talking about seizing opportunities and making the most out of your summers in the motherland. Leyla Mulavdic is a biology and chemistry student at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; her family is from Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

For the past decade, she’s spent every single summer in Mostar with her family and friends. As amazing as it sounds, she knew that she wanted to do more than just sit around and drink cappuccinos at the kafana every day and decided to pursue an internship at a local hospital, only a ten-minute walk from her family’s apartment.

To hear Leyla talk more about her internship and how you can get involved with opportunities back home, listen to the podcast episode by clicking the button below.
