Originally born in Bosanska Gradiška, Belma Halilović is the oldest of three sisters and currently lives in Cincinnati, Ohio. In January 2020, she was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL) which is a type of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma: a blood cancer that starts in your lymphocytes. It’s a fast-growing aggressive cancer and unfortunately one that came right at the start of the global pandemic.
Nevena is the mastermind behind the Balkan Hostess, a food blog where she shares delicious recipes. She is best known for her signature dish, jafa kocke.
